The Turtley Awesome Experience Leaders!
Nicku Keshavarz
Hello, team! Maryland has been home all my life, and I'm a senior studying biology and sustainability studies. I’m thrilled to lead an AB trip after having been a participant on two other trips and leading a trip to the Chesapeake Bay last year. Environmental conservation/studies is one of my passions, which is why I decided on minoring in sustainability and why I love going on educational environmental trips. Other than being a part of AB, I spend time working on the Student Entertainment Events board and working towards my goal of being a dentist! My other passions include listening to music, traveling, and meeting new people to hear other people’s stories. Alternative Breaks has truly changed my life, and I hope that I can make our trip as rewarding and memorable as possible!
Donald De Alwis
Hey everyone! My name is Donald, and I'm currently a junior studying Environmental Science and Technology and Public Health. This will be my third time volunteering at the Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital, and I'm so excited to co-lead the experience. I love to hike, camp, climb, and do anything that involves getting me out into the mountains. Terps Helping Turtles was and continues to be a course-altering experience for me, and I am excited to share the experience with you all this spring! We'll have some amazing conversations, make some great memories, and eat some tasty yums (what's not to like). Keep an open mind, get ready for some turtley awesome experiences (sorry).
