Hi! My name is Joyce and I'm a junior from Baltimore County, majoring in Environmental Science and Policy, with a concentration in Conservation Biology & Biodiversity. I'm very excited for this upcoming Alternative Breaks trip, as I've heard so many great things about this trip from my friends. I loved my last Alternative Breaks trip in Florida surrounding environmental issues, so it was an obvious choice to apply for this one as well.  I am looking forward to learning about all the different species of sea turtles and what can be done to promote marine species conservation, as well as healthy marine ecosystems. I'm also excited to participate in the education portion of the trip, since it is so important to inspire kids to become passionate about environmental issues. Finally, I look forward to all the great new friendships and memories I'll make throughout the week :)
